The WiModem can work perfectly on PET machines, but some changes are required. If you are planning on getting a WiModem for your PET then please note in the COMMENTS section when placing your order that this is for a PET and not a C64. The changes necessary for use with a PET:

1) Disconnecting pin 2 of the USER PORT connector from the WiModem PCB and soldering a wire to the power supply section of the WiModem to get +5V power. That wire can be connected to any +5V source, and the cassette port is commonly used.
2) Cut jumpers JP1, JP2, and JP3.

JP1 and JP3 are located on the FRONT side of the board, both are slightly under the OLED screen (if you have that option). JP2 is located on the back side of the board.

Cutting the jumpers is easy using a small, sharp object like a hobby (X-acto) knife, flat-tipped screwdriver, etc. You want to separate the connection between the two pads. You are basically "scraping" the metal trace away that is connected between the two pads. See pictures below for details.

Let me just say that the WiModem’s feature for blocking certain IP’s is fantastic! Running a BBS, bot calls were a nightmare. I can say that 2 IP’s (each cycling through variant suffixes) have been blocked by this feature almost 300 times already. It works like a charm. Also, I noticed that the light on the modem goes out when these bots ping the modem. This is a great feature for me also, as I can tell when walking into the room that an attempt was made. I don’t know if it was intentional, but it works for me!
I noticed an issue when attempting to authenticate to telehack.com using with the WiModem and DesTerm 128. Username is accepted, but the terminal hangs on password entry. I was able to find someone else referencing this exact issue in an online forum, but there was no resolution. It's possible the issue has to do with DesTerm and nothing to do whatsoever with the WiModem. AT*T value = 1 .

I'd like to know if anyone has had success using the WiModem and any 80 column terminal software on the C128 to successfully authenticate to telehack.com .

Hello,

I was able to successfully connect my Wimodem to my wifi (Status: Ready). Afterwards I wanted to test the modem with CCGMS V6 incl. ZTERM but the problem is after starting the SW I am not able to enter any AT Commands --> Cursor is fixed, doesn´t move.
I tried to change from Graphics mode to ASCII no change - Also when I try to call a BBS with the F-Keys, nothing happens.

Somehow it looks to me that CCGMS/ZTERM does not recognize my modem.

Then I checked with Novaterm - with this SW I was able to send AT-Command - but I would really like to use CCGMS

Has anybody an idea what is wrong or what needs to be changed in CCGMS to make it work with Wimodem?

Thanks

Hi

Can someone try the new version of wibridge and tell me if file transfers are working for them ?

download : https://www.cbmstuff.com/downloads/wibridge.rar

New:

1) Connect from pc to wimodem
1) Set ATS0=1 on the wimodem (AutoAnswer)
2) Select new menu Item Connect->Conect to..
3) type in ip address of wimodem (you can find this by typing ATI in your terminal)
Note: port is hard-coded to 6400 but I can change this if anyone needs it.

2) Multi file transfers(ZModem only).
1) Click Send->Zmodem in the menu
2) Use CRTL or SHIFT - Click to select multiple files in the file open dialog.
3) The files should appear in the file queue and be sent one by one.

This all works fine with a PC terminal program, but on my c64 it stalls after the first block

EXE Has been scanned with virustotal before upload.

Hello

I just received my WiModem a few hours ago. I managed to go thru the full setup without issues. I even managed to connect to a couple bbs'.

However i powered down my c64 and powered it up a few hours later and the WiModem blinks blue under the OLED screen and if i try to open CGGMS 2017 as soon as it opens starts making this weird noised and the screen scrambles.

I tested this WiModem on a different C64 and the same results. Power supply was mad by Ray Carlsen in case someone wonders if im using the original brick.

Thank you.

I tried to setup the WiModem with Multi Term 4.7, but wasn't having any luck. It's top baud rate is 1200, and I set it to Hayes compatible, but I get nothing back when in the ASCII term and enter ATI.

It's the only program I have at the moment, found it on my 5.25 floppy from the old days. I have a UII+ on order, but that'll be a while.

Any ideas?
