I found the error and could now use the WIFI modem in the Internet.
So I was able to make an update to v1.7.
The error or the difficulty is the Wifi modem does not want to work with my WPA2 security connection.
The modem can not access ports other than: 80 via the open GUEST connection.
It works on my main WLAN, but I have to switch off my WPA2 encryption.
Is that normal ?
Which secure WLAN can the WIFI modem work with?
Thank you, Greetings Mike

I use letters and numbers in my passphrase without any issues. Are you using AES or TKIP encryption in the WPA2 protocol? AES has been successfully cracked, so most router companies are dropping it. I am not sure what the ESP8266 library has for support.

Hello
I have tested it now again.
I had previously stored in the router lowercase letters with numbers as code.
With this setting, I could not go online on the C64, no matter whether I wrote large or small letter.
If I use in the router as a passphrase ONLY big letters, then I can log on the C64 with the wifimodem and use there only small letters.
What type of WPA2 I use? yes, I use AES unfortunately ...
Now it works
Greetings Mike

You MUST be in ASCII terminal mode when entering your router name and passphrase.

Yes,
This was probably the general problem,
And yes, it is also correct in your instructions, .. Sorry
But now everything works and also an update of the software on V1.7
Now I'm just waiting for the ATA command :-))
Thank you and happy new year
