Keycap color poll
#21

No, because tooling for a double-shot mold in China is about $60,000 per mold (and we need two).  In the U.S. it is more than double that cost.

Is there any way to see the keyboard caps in “clear”, preferably including a backlight?

No, not until the keycaps are actually made.  The "clear" is not perfectly clear.. there is a slight texture on the sides and a significant texture on the top.  Here is what the keycaps look like from the last campaign (no backlighting), but the keycap will be the same because it is using the same mold.

White?  Do you mean the normal Beige, or the 'Aldi' off-white?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the survey.

If
- Black
- Clear
- Translucent black
- Translucent blue
- Translucent red
- Dark gray
- Orange
are initial and already set colors, why should I vote for translucent red, translucent blue or clear as an additional color? And how do light translucent black or dark translucent black differ from translucent black?

When this poll was started, some of the colors were not part of the campaign.

Dark translucent black is the same as "translucent black". Dark translucent black is 80% opaque, 20% clear. Light translucent black is 50% opaque and 50% clear.

It'll be cool to see these black options side by side at the end of the campaign  Smile

I’m quite confused: Jim, exactly what colors are already being offered? What are the options for additional color that we are voting for? I’m hearing a lot of conflicting information on this.
