Yes. I have been waiting on the new RF module to finally be available. It has been delayed a year now. They are making large modules, just not the same size module (yet - it is on the horizon though). The difference is that the new RF module supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi. Using 5GHz the latency between the WiModem and the internet is reduced. This greatly helps with file transfers where tight window protocols are used, like Zmodem. Zmodem was designed for a maximum latency of 50ms (some versions have even shorter latency requirements). The ping time from WiModem to router to internet and back can exceed 50ms and you end up with a retry during the file transfer. So, the 5GHz frequency option reduces the latency and makes transfers more reliable.

One more inquiry if I may, I have configured WImodem with a static IP but noticed the second I issue a AT&W to store permanent changes and reboot, it reverts back to DHCP.
After a lot of fiddling with it I realized if i do NOT issue a AT&W I can reboot and it keeps the static IP.
Only concern is if I were to make any other changes that do require AT&W (i.e. Baud rate, stop bits etc.) and reboot it will surely forget it has been assigned a static IP.
Can you confirm this issue?
Thank you

I have never had this reported before (the WiModem is now 11 years old too!) I will look into it.

I would like to purchase a secondary unit but they are showing out of stock, will you be manufacturing more of these?
I think I hosed it, on last reboot I tried doing a firmware update and this time it worked !!!
Except... it progressed to 50.. something percent and froze, waited about 40 minutes and unplugged, upon rebooting light turns on but screen displays nothing, did I destroy my unit ?

No, it's not destroyed. You can try doing the EMERGENCY RESET to see if it comes back. I can always re-flash it here, but there is a "golden" firmware contained on the unit that should boot even if the update became corrupted. Try the reset and let me know the results.
