Here is a list of 3.5" PC drives that work with the SuperCard Pro hardware. Please let us know if the drive you are using is not in our list and we will add it! Thanks!

Canon MD7511 (dual 5.25"/3.5" drive)

Mitsumi D359T5
Mitsumi D359D3

NEC FD1231T

Panasonic JU-256A216P

Samsung SFD-321B - this is an extremely good drive for reading/writing! *1
Samsung SFD-321J - this is an extremely good drive for reading/writing!

Sony MPF920-1

Notes:

*1 - The Rev T6 and later drives are high density ONLY. So, they will not work for reading/writing DD disks!
3.5" PC Drive work

Sony MPF920-L
Alps DF354H(121G) ((Work > 84 tracks ? strange))
Panasonic JU-256A488PC
I'am using an ALPS DF354H089C and got 85 tracks ...strange as well.
If there is no head stop on the upper side, then you could go until you run out of magnetic media - maybe 87 or 88 tracks.

Just wondering, what makes those Samsung drives particularly good for reading/writing, in comparison to other makes?
The electronics apparently. If you look at the flux data that is written it barely changes over the course of the track. This means excellent drive speed stability and constant read and write gain controls.
Are there any revisions we should be mindful of with the Samsung SFD-321J drives? Was thinking of picking up a couple of the Samsung SFD-321J drives off ebay. The ones i found i think are rev. A4 and A3.
I have not seen any differences in the revisions of the 321J drives, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be!

Okay, off hand do you know the revision number of the 321b and 321j Samsung drives that you tested?

I've just bought a T3 revision 321B myself. Can't test it yet though, as I've only just ordered my Supercard Pro. Smile

This post was useful to me, over on the KryoFlux forums, when I was searching for information on drives:

I successfully tried also a T1and a T4 so i would say that the models of SFD-321B that are good to dump Amiga disks are:

SFD-321B /LEB T1
SFD-321B /LEB T2
SFD-321B /LEB T3
SFD-321B /LEB T4
SFD-321B /LEB T5
