I recently had an issue where the SCP software said the SCP board could not be found. A reinstall of the SCP software did not help. I have had this issue 1-2 with FTDI devices over the years. It seems to stem from installing software which tries to add a different version of the FTDI drivers. I think it may have been the STM32 flash tool that messed things up for me, but I don't know why.
Anyhow, go to: https://ftdichip.com/wp-content/uploads/...r_v1.4.zip and run the CDM Uninstaller and remove all your FTDI drivers and then reinstall the one you need.
My roommate was having trouble copying 360k disks and came to me for help. I took a look

In the current SCP release 2.40, it seems 96-TPI drives are not being double-stepped when dealing with IBM 360k formats during some operations.

This occurs when reading using the analyzer/editor (every other track is showing random flux.) The analyzer shows a track range of 41 so it should know to double-step when the drive type is properly specified as 96 TPI.

This also occurs when writing 360k SCP images back to disk using copier. It writes 96-TPI, covering only half the disk. No workaround for this!

READING a disk to create a 360k image is not affected. These create fine and are readable in HxC and similar.

Of course we're verifying that the setting for drive type is 96-TPI and read/write density is low. Drives tested were a TEAC and a Panasonic JU-475-4.

Has progress been made on this that I'm not seeing?

I'm going to have a pretty large volume of disks to image soon and I'd like to be able to use a SuperCard Pro to do the job. I'm looking at needing to do 3.5 (dd/hd), 5.25 (sssd, ssdd, dsdd, dsqd, dshd) both hard & soft sectored, as well as a similar range for 8" disks. Encodings will most likely be GCR, FM, and MFM.

So, it seems with the latest Windows update that many applications that are not code signed are triggering false positives, including Windows 10's built-in anti-virus software.

I have updated the SuperCard Pro software and moved some resources around and that seems to have cured the issue with Windows 10's anti-virus, but some others are now reporting the software as some other type of adware. I am in the process of getting a code signing certificate so i can eliminate this problem for good.
If you do get the Windows anti-virus pop up you can simply ALLOW the SCP.exe and scp_update.exe programs (and links).

There is no option to select a 3.5" dive. This was answered in another thread recently that it was not needed as the SCP will figure out what is attached. This make sense but is still confusing from a User Interface point of view. Maybe having it display that a 3.5" drive with 720K or 1.44mb disk inserted would make sense.

Several times the software seems to 'get stuck' in one mode or another. For example I was trying to write a 720K IBM image to a 3.5" floppy last evening. I would select 720K IBM and then load the image and it would switch back to C64. I finally had to close it and reopen to get it to work correctly.

When you start up the SC software and it detects an update is available, and you install said update when it tries to restart it will show a message box that says, "The SCP software is already running" (or there about). You can reopen the SCP software manually after that.

At one time it was mentioned it might be possible to rewrite the software (or firmware) to allow SCP-connected drives to show up as drive letters and allow Windows (or Linux?) to use them as a regular floppy drive. Has there been any progress in this area? That would be great! I've read messages from a lot of people in various forums who ask if there's a USB interface for their 5.25" floppy drives as there is for 3.5" drives.

Despite the best efforts of USPS, I got by SuperCard Pro in the mail today. The box looked like a quit obese employee sat on it but as it was well packaged it survived unscathed.

I saw there was a thread about this false virus flag issue from a few years ago and it looks like it is back. Trying to download the flasher program and get:

updater12.exe, gets flagged as Behavior:Win32/Generic.GX!ml
updater12.zip, gets flagged as Trojan:Win32/Tiggre!plock

It is a PITA to override Defender and get it to download the file anyhow. I realize I don't need to reflash a new board now, just posting as an FYI.

To my knowledge, 3.5" disks come in two density: double (DD) and high (HD). The FAT12 DD capacity is 720KB and the HD is 1.44MB. In the SCP software settings, there is an option to choose Low or High Density. There is also an option to choose Disk Type: IBM 720KB or IBM 1.44MB.

Should I choose Low density when choosing IBM 720KB type? What if I make an image for a 720KB disk with read Density set to High?

Thank you.
