I ordered my SuperCard Pro and it's on the way.
Meanwhile, I got this old floppy disk drive (Panasonic JU-257A606P), and I was wondering whether you could tell me if there's a chance it will work with SCP?
I found the drive's specifications here:

Anyone have a 2020 current source for 3.5" internal floppy drives? I'd prefer new.

The sources that come to mind are Amazon, Newegg, ebay.

Floppy drives can get particularly crusty, and so I'm really hesitant to buy Used. Some of the pictures confirm how ugly they can get.

I have probably a half-dozen drives here, and can "refurbish" them myself. I thought it would be nice to have a couple new ones to start fresh......

Some of the prices I'm seeing are absurd....

Thanks

Out of curiosity, I bought a Panasonic JU-455-7A14 5-1/4" 360K, 48TPI drive. It is the same basic design as the JU-475 but is only 360K. My motivation was to see how it worked w.r.t. some of the questionable C64 disks I had imaged on the JU-475.

It does not seem to have a jumper for ignoring the index sensor for motor operation like the JU-475 but it works on the backside of disks without a second index hole just fine.

I have tested a few disks I imaged with the JU-475 that had tracks marked in yellow and the JU-455 read them in fine. The extra width of the read head must help? Other disks I get the same or slightly different tracks marked yellow vs. green. Maybe due to slight differences in alignment?

I am going to use with SCP and with kryoflux, for imaging and copying,
In your experience (or other users), do you suggest me a pair to these?, it seems 55FGR don't support weak bits (as i read in the thread), appart from that?
