Downloading problems with WiModem 232 and a UDS-10
#41
I'm terrible at making myself clear. Sad

The download problem is not resolved at all.

Downloading with Windows 10 using SyncTerm - success.

Downloading with an Atari Mega STe and a WiModem 232 - failure. It gives the same
CRC error or subpackets too long error as the UDS-10 setup did...

Thanks.

Okay, I've had other people calling in and testing.

So far, they've all reported successful uploads and downloads.

I've still got them testing so we'll see how it goes.

So...the problem seems to be between my Atari Mega STe and it's WiModem 232
and my Atari Mega ST4 with it's WiModem 232.

Can I snap a screen shot after I do an "ati" and an "at&v" and post it here?

Would that help? Thanks.

If not, then you can look at it here:

Jim and Darklord - I tested DarkForce over the last several weeks and most recently this weekend and today with every bit of hardware, emulator, term program.

Atari A8 - Term programs: BobTerm, Amodem, Express using the Wimodem and Emulator with all standard configurations - Tested Up/Dl and worked without issue as well as the bbs menus, inputs and message boards

Mega ST - Term program used was FLASH, standard Wimodem settings, tested Up/Dl and worked without issue as well as the bbs menus, inputs and message boards

Also tested with SyncTerm - No issues on BBS including successful Up/Dl's

Here is a photo of the ST Wimodem settings - no special AT commands used or other

You might want to look at your router settings to see if you have something that limits the packet size or speed on your local network.  Check any firewall provisions.  If others can call and upload/download correctly then your BBS <> client though an ISP connection is all working correctly.

You can add attachments to messages by scrolling down to where you see "Attachments" and either dragging files into that box or just clicking on it to invoke a file requestor.

I compared my WiModem 232 settings to Amis's.

Identical except for:

Baud rate - 19.2 vs 9600. That shouldn't make any difference.

D0 vs D1 - inverts DCD polarity. I tried both ways. Didn't make any difference.

X0 vs X1 - just shows the connect speed when you logon. Again, shouldn't make
any difference.

I looked through my router (it's a Linksys) but I can't see anything that would make
any difference or would be affecting this.

Besides, if it was, wouldn't it also affect when I download using SyncTerm on my Windows
10 box or Kubuntu Linux laptop since they are also on the same LAN with the same
router and they download fine?

I also tried doing this:

ATDT*T0,darkforce-bbs.dyndns.org:520

ATDT*T0,192.168.X.XXX:520

Shouldn't the first take it out of the LAN and back in again?

Both connect fine btw, but neither will download successfully.

Thanks.

Also, it's still acting really strange.

Whenever it gives the CRC error or subpackets too long and times out,
the WiModem 232's LED turns to red?

Thanks.

First, for the life of me I can't see anywhere that it says "attachments". I must be blind. Sad

Second, just for the fun of it, I disconnected my Kubuntu Linux laptop from my LAN and then
reconnected to the network via WiFi.

I then launched SyncTerm, connected to my BBS, then attempted to download a file. The file
did download successfully, but look here at what SyncTerm's ouptut was:

(all the way to the bottom)

Thanks.
