The problem with the MK2 is the 8701 emulation that is built into the board itself.  There is apparently no way to fix this.   It appears to be too sensitive to voltage changes in the 5v rail.  The original MK1 board works fine *IF* you use a real 8701 instead of the plug-in board that emulates the 8701 (which is the same circuitry that is used in the MK2 board).

but in the mk2 it is not possible to change 8701 ?? or change the latter's programming ???? via update or other ??
