Alrighty. It's a minor quirk but it has happened intermittently with each system I have tried so far. Eventually I will run across another system with an actual serial port and will try it. One would only notice if they are paying very close attention. Since I do a lot with direct command entry; no dialer, I see it more than most would, I suppose. Also, as previously stated, it might have been like this with the earlier true modems from back in the day (300 to 2400 baud) but I just didn't notice.
However, it doesn't affect the product in that the modem does what it is supposed to very well. Unless I find something definative about it in the future, I will drop the subject.
Thanks.
ETA: If it were a product of one of the systems I am using or the USB to serial adapter, I would expect the modem to drop more characters than just an LF under that specific circumstance (during a dial command and NOWHERE else). But, the modem doesn't drop characters... just that one LF after the dial command. Probably a quirk of the WiModem.
