Just to clarify, I wasn't asking for you to solve anything via firmware. I'm already satisfied that my problem is solved with the router change I made.
It just came about in a way I wasn't expecting and changes my understanding of how I thought my wireless network behaved.
Thank you for the advice on DHCP addresses. Fortunately, the max wireless devices I could have connected at the same time will be four. Even then, two of those four won't be online for very long.
