That won't work. The upper and lower heads are offset by several tracks. You MUST flip the disk over to read the backside - or use a modified disk drive - there are no exceptions.
I have not actually seen any 96 TPI disk drive that can't automatically read the back side of a disk when flipped over, once you have disabled the index pulse requirement with a jumper setting.
