Wimodem232 New Error
#1
Hi all

I've been a user fo the Wimodem232 for a few years now, but in the last couple of days the modem keeps resetting itself mid connection/usage. I'm seeing the following error each time in the terminal before it restarts itself.

I've tried firmware updating, resetting to factory, clearing phonebook entries but so far it's continuing to throw this error within less than a minute of connecting out.

I was wondering if anyone was able to help shed any light on the issue, experienced anything similar or has any thoughts on how to resolve it please?

This is a memory exception error. This can only be caused by 1 reason - attempting to access memory that does not exist. I have never seen this before, but since you have re-flashed it then that would eliminate some type of flash corruption. This would have to be a hardware failure I am guessing since this product is now a decade old. If you return it, I will replace it. I offer a lifetime warranty on everything I manufacture. You just have to pay for the shipping to/from me.

Hi. Thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate the warranty/offer, that's very kind. I made a few settings changes yesterday with no impact but then lastly, reset the phonebook and at least for the next 20-30 mins from that point the error stopped occurring for a while, but unfortunately it has occurred again on further testing today

I'll follow up with an email,

Thanks!
S.
