The WiModem's emulate the Hayes specification, which allows for a single character for CR, LF, and BS. I am not sure what you mean by an alternate CR? Do you mean supporting both 0x0D (normal CR) and 0x5F? The problem with that of course is that 0x5F is a valid ASCII character (the underscore "_" symbol), which is used during BBS'ing.
