Cannot install SCP anymore, virus found
#11
The only DLL that I call is the FTDI driver, and that is signed. There is not much I can do about a VB6 app other than get a signing certificate.

What I don’t understand is that I don’t see an issue with any of my own Windows 10 setups, even after the latest update.

I see an update checking menu in the application. So you are calling some network functions to do this, isn't it ?

I am calling a system function, not a DLL to do that. The only DLL that I open is the FTDI2XX.DLL.

Unfortunately, I can't test any kind of changes because I don't have any machines that complain about the SCP.exe file. The online scanners that fail are all Android based, and you can't load a Windows .exe on an Android device, so those don't matter.

I have just run into this problem myself with Windows Security in Windows 10.  I can not install the software or the dll.    Windows security strikes it as a virus.

I can not install the software either.  Windows 10 1909 with just the default Windows security.

Threat detected: Trojan:Win32/Ymacco.AAF5

You have a problem with the installer or running the app?

Yes this is what i want to mean : You are using network related functions so your exe is for sure linked to a Windows dll to have access to these functions (Ws2_32.dll or something similar).

I don't see android related stuff on the VirusTotal screenshot i posted here yesterday.

Go look at the websites that are reporting the false positives and you will find that most are for android devices.

I can confirm that there are no issues installing the latest SCP on Windows 10 Enterprise 1909.
Perhaps the computers themselves have viruses?

It's certainly not SCP.
