You should have zero issues in 9600 baud with the WiModem v1.8 firmware and handshaking enabled AT&K1) using CCGMS 2017. There are various issues with NovaTerm hanging when selecting the UP9600 driver. StrikeTerm 2014 final seems to be fine.

Actually I'll try CCGMS again, I believe my issue with that is it only supported Xmodem. Can you send a link for StrikeTerm final? This is the one I'm using. http://csdb.dk/release/?id=130807

That is the version I was referring to, but I tested that today and it does sometimes (not always) hang when loading the driver. The previous version (2013) doesn't do that.
