2.4MB 5.25" drive, and 2.8MB 3.5 drive as IEC device?

Any chance there will ever be firmware that will let these 2 types of PC drives read and write 1571, and 1581 disks, as well as some native implementation of their full size formats?

Preferable FD4000 compatible in the case of the 3.5" drive.

I'm somewhat less concerned with reading and writing copy protected disks.
IMHO, we should be trying to do away with the legacy of a bygone error.

You can read and write any disk with any drive that is physically capable of handling the media. No firmware change is required.
