NO ANSWER
From my Mac I able to telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl with no problem?
Any suggestions?

It could be that whatever this is requires Telnet negotiations. If that is the case, then make sure that you have TELNET translation enabled. Type AT*T1 before you attempt to connect.
