Super rare fd format - miguelhdz - 07-03-2017

Sorry for may bad english..

Hi everyone, my SuperCard Pro has just arrived, and Im trying to make some FD copies from a Mazak M32 CNC machine. Floppy disk label says Mazak System Software, and the other one says Parameter & Macro.
From what I learned, this machine uses a rare japanese M3 format, 1.23Mb spinning at 360RPM (I am not sure).
I have tried using "Disk copier/Imager" with no luck because the cnc machine can compare its parameter beetwen "Parameter&Macro" fdisk and intern EPROM. Original disk displays "Compare OK" and the copy displays "IOP FDC Error"
SuperCard is connected to MITSUMI D63119, using standar IBM 1.44MB floppies

Just use INDEX mode and the 1.44MB setting.  These are easy to copy.  Make sure that you clean the disk drive heads with a disk cleaner!

still no luck :/

I've tried different cables, different drives (SAMSUNG SFD-321B REV.T7 from a old Compaq PC) tried but nothing.
So I took the floppy disk drive (Samsung SFD-321B REV.T3) from CNC machine and I noticed it has different jumper settings.
When I plug it to SPC, its motor simply doesnt move.

Make an image of the disk using the SAMSUNG SFD-321B REV.T7 drive and send it to me: data @ cbmstuff.com.  Make the image using SPLICE mode with 2 revs.  I can look at the flux data and tell you what the problem is.  I have several customers who have already duplicated these types of disks for CNC machines.  There is nothing special about them, other than it seems track 0 (the boot sector) comes from the ROM and not the disk itself.

Not to bring up an old thread, but I have a similar situation.

I have a Mazak/Mazatrol CNC machine and I'd love to be able to copy the disks.  I know I won't be able to actually READ them on a PC but I'd like to have the ability to copy them for safekeeping/imaging.   I copied a disk as INDEX / IBM 1.44 and sent it to that particular machinist to try to read.  He told me he couldn't read the disk.  What was the proper settings to get this to work?   I can send you an image as well for analysis.

Thank you!

Fred

You should be able to just use the INDEX mode to make copies or image files. You are welcome to send me an image at the email address stated above.

Thanks, much appreciated.  I zipped up the index image and will email shortly after this post.
