Parallel Commodore Computer - nwcmdusr64 - 05-14-2014

I know the 1541 and 1571 drives can be made to have a parallel port that connects to the parallel port on a IBM PC compatible computer. To my understanding, the parallel port is needed to work with moving copy protected disks on the c64 using the MNIB tools. However, would installing a parallel port on a commodore c64 or 128 computer help in getting many protected disks backed up correctly. I am quite new when it comes to understanding commodore copy protection so please give me some slack here. I am just trying to get old programs archived due to the age of the disks and system. Thanks for any help!

There are no programs that use the parallel cable that duplicate everything like SuperCard+ can using original Commodore hardware. Of course, SuperCard Pro can duplicate everything using PC floppy drives and a PC.
